14 Oct DOORS – project that opens doors for Romanian NGOs
The Royal Margareta Foundation of Romania launches “DOORS – Organizational Development of Romanian NGOs for Sustainability”, a project carried out in partnership with Nedland Kultur, with the financial support of Active Citizens Fund Romania, a program financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through EEA Grants 2014- 2021. The purpose of this project aims at the development and sustainability of 20 NGOs that carry out activities in the social, educational, health, civic and environmental fields from underserved geographical areas, which have limited human and financial resources.
Small and medium-sized NGOs in Romania are invited to sign up for the “DOORS – Organizational Development of Romanian NGOs for Sustainability” project, where, over a period of 20 months, 20 NGOs from all over the country will receive support in developing their organizational capacity through a complex program that includes: training, coaching, strategy development, new websites, social media pages and experience exchanges.
NGOs that cumulatively meet the following criteria are eligible:
– they are legally established and have been carrying out activities for at least one year;
– works in one of the fields: social, education, health, civic and environment, etc.;
– operate in underserved areas, either with a limited presence of civil society or situations of community deprivation in one or more of the following aspects: low level of human capital (education, health and demographic behavior), low employment rate, poor conditions housing, insufficiently developed services for certain vulnerable groups.
Priority will be given to organizations that have less than 10 employees and a budget in 2021 of less than 200,000 Euros.
The Royal Foundation will offer beneficiary organizations the opportunity to be part of a complex process of organizational transformation, aiming to strengthen their capacity to develop projects, attract volunteers and manage the organization’s management. Specialists in the field, with over 10 years of practical experience, will work alongside the staff of the organizations in a real partnership in support of them and the communities they serve. Participation in this project can represent for each NGO a major step in its organizational development and the acquisition of sustainability.
